In this series my focus has been on photo transfers. It was so exciting to try this technique and to see if I could combine photo encaustic medium and pigment powder to create a semi abstract world of wonder so to speak. I found myself pondering about the heating process in itself and the climate as well during this process. it struck me that it all adds up in a way I hadn’t thought of before. If I happen to heat the surface ever so slightly above this delicate medium’s tolerance, the motif will begin to move and very soon it will break up and dissolve and be lost forever. Isn’t that the case is with these fragile flowers in real life as well, it is all about tolerance and temperature, isn’t it?
